Born in San Francisco California and raised in Marin County just north of The Golden Gate bridge. Surrounded by mountains, dirt and trees I had little choice but to become obsessed with Mountain Biking. Initially I started riding and racing BMX bikes but in about 1984 that all changed. My mother purchased a Ross Mountain Bike and I managed to pound that into the ground. My first real Mountain Bike was a 1987 Specialized Stumpjumper Comp, then I got a 1990 Fisher AL-1. My next bike was a 1993 Litespeed Obed. After that I finally made the jump to a full suspension bike and got a 1995 Specialized FSR Elite.
I moved down to San Luis Obispo in 1997 and my view of Mountain Biking changed. I then began riding downhill more than anything and eventually got a 2000 Orange Patriot LT. It was one of the first Orange Bikes in the USA. I have had so many bikes since then I will not bother to list them. While in San Luis Obispo I worked full-time while going to school and graduated Cal Poly with a Agricultural Business degree. I have worked as a full-time commercial photographer for the last twenty years.
In that time I have done catalog shoots, magazine ad shots, race and event coverage and also shot the AMA Hangtown nationals a few times for MXA. Over the last 18 years I have operated www.downhillnews.com it is a mountain bike website with a focus on the gravity side of the sport.
I live in San Luis Obispo County with my wife and children. I enjoy shooting images of him doing what he does best playing high level club soccer. I enjoy shooting in studio with strobes and attempt to paint product with eye catching light that pulls the viewer in.
